We printed this customer’s artwork today using DTG — Direct-to-Garment printing—and this is exactly the kind of artwork that shows why we love this decoration method.
Instead of applying a transfer on top of the garment, DTG uses specialized ink to print directly into the fabric. That makes it especially good for photographs, paintings, gradients and artwork with lots of colors and fine detail.
But here’s the trade-off: DTG isn’t the right choice for every shirt.
At Big Frog Albuquerque, we primarily use DTG on light-colored, cotton garments where this printing method really shines.
And there’s something you can’t appreciate from a Facebook photo:
👉 THE HAND FEEL!
Come into the store and actually touch one of our DTG samples. The print can feel incredibly soft because you’re feeling the shirt—not a large, heavy layer sitting on top of it.
That also means the garment retains the softness and breathability people love about a good cotton T-shirt. 👕
So which is better—DTG or DTF?
Neither!
The better question is: Which decoration method is right for YOUR artwork and YOUR garment?
