Tam’s Tip: I’m Picky About Left Crests!
We just finished 100 shirts for the British Automobile Owners Association Rendezvous 2026 in Farmington, New Mexico—and this customer created a left-crest design that I absolutely LOVE.
Here’s why that’s noteworthy: I’m pretty picky about left crests. 😄
A left crest gives you roughly a 4″ x 4″ space, and customers often try to squeeze a full-size design—with lots of words and details—into that little area. The result may technically fit, but that doesn’t mean anyone can actually read it!
This customer, with some help from AI, did it right. The artwork is compact, balanced and stylish. It looks like it was designed for the placement, rather than simply shrinking a big design to make it fit.
And there’s another great detail: the shirts have a USA/British flag emblem on the back yoke. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Here’s another Tam’s Tip: At Big Frog Albuquerque, we price our standard large front decoration the same as a left crest. Why? A left crest actually requires more precise measuring and placement on our end—and we want our customers to choose the placement that makes their artwork look its best, not because they think smaller automatically means cheaper.
Sometimes the left crest is absolutely the right answer.
These 100 shirts prove it. ❤️
Have an idea but aren’t sure where it should go? Bring it to us. We’ll help you figure out the artwork, size and placement that gives you the most bang for your buck.
