We printed this customer\u2019s artwork today using DTG \u2014 Direct-to-Garment printing<\/strong>\u2014and this is exactly the kind of artwork that shows why we love this decoration method.<\/p>\n

Instead of applying a transfer on top of the garment, DTG uses specialized ink to print directly into the fabric. That makes it especially good for photographs, paintings, gradients and artwork with lots of colors and fine detail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But here’s the trade-off: DTG isn’t the right choice for every shirt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Big Frog Albuquerque, we primarily use DTG on light-colored, cotton garments<\/strong> where this printing method really shines.<\/p>\n

And there’s something you can’t appreciate from a Facebook photo:<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc49 THE HAND FEEL!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Come into the store and actually touch one of our DTG samples. The print can feel incredibly soft because you’re feeling the shirt\u2014not a large, heavy layer sitting on top of it.<\/p>\n

These two customer projects sitting in production this morning are a great example of something you may not see when you order custom apparel online: sometimes, it pays to try it on BEFORE we decorate it!<\/strong> \ud83d\udc38<\/p>\n

On the left, a campaign ordered a Women\u2019s Large<\/strong> for one of their team members. Before we decorated it, she stopped by and tried it on. The size technically worked\u2014but she preferred a different cut and sleeve length.<\/p>\n

No problem. We\u2019re switching her to a Unisex Medium<\/strong> that she feels more comfortable wearing. Once we know it fits, then<\/em> we’ll decorate it.<\/p>\n

On the right, we have polos for another organization. Two staff members are between sizes, so those polos are staying blank until they come in and try them on. We’ll decorate the ones that actually fit best.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is this level of fitting necessary for every custom apparel order? No.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most customers can stop into our Albuquerque showroom, try on a few samples, and we can determine the right size and fit pretty quickly. And when we don’t have your exact garment in the store, we have access to thousands of brands and styles<\/strong>, along with manufacturer product specification sheets and sizing information to help guide the decision.<\/p>\n

But here’s the important part:<\/p>\n

Once we put your logo on it, we can’t change how the shirt fits. So when there’s a question, we’d rather figure it out BEFORE we decorate it.<\/strong> \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re creating artwork that will eventually be printed on a black shirt<\/strong>, DESIGN IT while viewing it on a black background.<\/p>\n

Why? Because you\u2019ll get a much better idea of how your colors, outlines and details will actually look against the garment.<\/p>\n

BUT\u2014here\u2019s the important part!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you send your artwork to us, remove that black background and save the design with a TRANSPARENT background.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Otherwise, that black box may become part of the artwork\u2014and that’s probably not the look you were going for. \ud83d\ude2c<\/p>\n

For the best results, send us a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background<\/strong>, or your original vector artwork when available.<\/p>\n

Their custom performance shirts feature the Behavioral Health Unit logo on the front, an American flag on the sleeve, and \u201cBehavioral Health Unit\u201d across the back<\/strong>\u2014a professional look created specifically for their team.<\/p>\n

BCSO joins several public-service organizations we’ve had the privilege of creating OMG online apparel stores<\/strong> for, including Forestry Services and APS Nurses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These two custom T-shirt orders came from two completely different customers<\/strong>\u2014but they ended up having a pretty fun connection.<\/p>\n

Customer #1 came to us for an El Chuco \/ El Paso, Texas<\/strong> shirt featuring this fantastic group of sharply dressed pachucos.<\/p>\n

Then Customer #2 happened to see that artwork on one of our screens while working with us on his own project.<\/p>\n

His reaction? Essentially: \u201cI love that!\u201d<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n

And just like that, one customer’s project helped inspire another! We incorporated the style into a completely new design celebrating Diez y Seis de Septiembre and El Grito de Dolores<\/strong>, surrounded by the colors and imagery of Mexico. \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddfd<\/p>\n

That\u2019s one of our favorite things about having a local custom T-shirt shop where you can actually come in, talk with a designer, see what we’re creating, touch the apparel and let an idea evolve.<\/strong><\/p>\n
