Big Frog Athens has chosen to support Dorcus House, a 501C3 supporting single moms who desire to be self sustaining: Dorcas House is a transitional home for teen mothers, battered women, and homeless women with a desire to start their lives anew, to move forward from past mistakes and wounds. With an intense focus on Christ and His healing and transformation power, once lost dreams and goals with be renewed and achieved. Dorcas House will strengthen at-risk families in need of counsel by providing a safe, nurturing environment for their children. It focuses on proper nutrition and care for children of the family and educational attainments and/or trade certification of the parent. Our mission is to improve the quality of life in target communities by reducing the need for long term government assistance programs (TANF), child illness and high school dropout rates.
